Site Manager - Civil Engineering (Groundworks & RC Frames)

Pay: £330-£350 per day (DOE)
Red Sky Personnel is working with a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major infrastructure scheme in the Reading area. They are seeking a Site Manager with strong experience in groundworks, utilities, and reinforced concrete structures to manage daily operations on a high-profile, technically complex project.
This is a secure and regulated site, so candidates must be eligible for clearance and willing to undergo background checks as part of the onboarding process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily site operations covering groundworks, service diversions, and RC frame works
- Manage site teams, subcontractors, and materials to ensure safe, timely, and efficient delivery
- Monitor progress against programme and ensure quality and health & safety standards are met
- Prepare and manage site documentation including RAMS, daily site reports, and briefings
- Liaise closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team to communicate progress, risks, and resource needs
- Ensure full compliance with site safety procedures and actively promote a positive H&S culture
- Interpret technical drawings and work alongside engineers to deliver works to design requirements
- Record daily activities, monitor outputs, and attend Daily Activity Briefings (DABs)
- Implement logistics and delivery plans in line with client expectations
- Establish and maintain a strategic plan to support programme targets
- Build strong working relationships with client counterparts
- Maintain commercial awareness during site delivery
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager delivering groundworks and RC frame packages
- Background working on secure or regulated sites is highly desirable
- SMSTS and CSCS (Black or Gold card) are essential
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
- Based within a commutable distance to Reading
