HGV Mechanic/ Plant Technician: What You’ll Be Doing

• Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of HGVs, plant, and specialist GSE.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections to keep the fleet safe and operational.
• Performing brake and smoke tests, identifying defects, and reporting to the Workshop Supervisor.
• Maintaining accurate service records and job cards.
• Supporting the wider engineering team with ad-hoc repairs and urgent breakdowns.
• Ensuring safety compliance at all times and reporting defective tools/equipment.

HGV Mechanic / Plant Technican What We’re Looking For

• Level 3 City & Guilds / NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• At least 3 years’ hands-on experience with HGVs, Plant, or GSE.
• GSE experience advantageous but not essential — full training provided.
• Heavy Goods Licence desirable.

• Salary: £39,000 rising to £43,000 after securing BHX & EMA airside passes and joining the call-out rota.
• Call-out rota (£80 per call-out) + overtime opportunities.
• 28 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
